Gender equality policies/feminist foreign policies
- Mongolian Law on Promotion of Gender Equality was adopted in 2011. The implementation of this public-policy setting law has been supported by two national programs until 2023, 14 sector-specific gender policies as well as gender-responsive local development policies in the nation’s capital, 21 aimags (provinces) and 9 districts.

First Female Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (June 29-30, 2023): Hosted in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, this meeting aimed to promote gender equality, human rights, and women’s participation in decision-making. Organized with Germany and France, the meeting covered themes such as empowering women in global decision-making, international cooperation for gender equality, and addressing global challenges through female leadership.
International Conference on Women, Peace, and Security (June 2022): Held in Mongolia, this conference gathered female peacekeepers from 30 countries and international organizations like the UN and EU. Discussions focused on gender equality challenges, increasing women’s roles in peacekeeping, and sharing best practices. This year marks Mongolia’s 20th anniversary in peacekeeping, with about 20,000 Mongolian personnel having served, including 911 women.
