Japan formulated the first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2015 with assistance from civil society. This NAP focuses on providing gender-responsive assistance to conflict-affected and natural disaster affected/prone countries. The second edition was adopted in 2019. The Government produces a self-monitoring report annually and the external evaluation committee produces review reports biannually.
