The Government of Afghanistan has a strong commitment to the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security National Action Plans (NAPs) and has included them in the national budget as the main program of the government.
The two NAPs (2015-2018 and 2019-2022) were developed in close cooperation between the Government of Afghanistan, civil society, conflict-affected communities and international agencies. The second NAP emphasizes the inclusion of women in the peace process, becoming civil servants, being engaged with the security sector and the electoral system.
