Italy and the Philippines, the 2026 Co-Chairs of the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Focal Points Network, in partnership with UN Women, which serves as the Network Secretariat, cordially invite you to a Ministerial-Level Side Event on the margins of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The event will be held under the theme Delivering on WPS: Consolidating Implementation and Accountability in a Fragmented Security Landscape. It will bring together ministers, senior officials and representatives of Member States, regional organizations and civil society to take stock of progress on the Women, Peace and Security agenda and to move from commitment to delivery — strengthening implementation and accountability at a time of deepening geopolitical fragmentation and continued pushback on women’s rights.
Building on the momentum of the 25th anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325, the 2026 ministerial gathering will provide a platform for Network members and partners to demonstrate sustained political will, share concrete national and regional action, and reaffirm their collective commitment to the WPS agenda and to multilateralism.
