Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe

By the end of 2020, 40 of the 57 OSCE participating States had adopted NAPs and updates of their NAPs. OSCE has no Regional Action Plan (RAP).

The National Action Plans of OSCE participating States are very diverse. The OSCE’s support to States focuses on enhancing capacities of government and civil society actors to design results-oriented action plans. Capacity building workshops to exchange expertise and good practices, for example, shall enhance the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security agenda and the network of practitioners in the region.

OSCE Executive Structures are also engaging in in various other ways to support the implementation of UNSCR 1325 by participating States. This includes, for example, gender training seminars for security sector actors and oversight bodies, promoting inclusion of women in the security sector, as well as in mediation and dialogue-facilitation efforts, and training and awareness-raising on how to prevent and respond to sexual and gender-based violence.
